Bathroom tile options for floors, walls and showers
Tile does more than any other finish to set the look of a bathroom, and it also has to stand up to water, steam and daily cleaning. This catalogue shows the tile styles we use regularly in Vancouver bathroom renovations, from large-format porcelain to classic mosaics.
Porcelain is the most common choice because it is dense, durable and available in finishes that look like natural stone, concrete or wood. Ceramic works well on walls, and natural stone such as marble adds character but needs sealing and more care. Larger tiles mean fewer grout lines and a calmer look, while small mosaics give the grip and flexibility needed on a sloped shower floor.
- Slip resistance: floor tile should have a matte or textured finish, especially inside the shower.
- Size and layout: the tile size is planned around the room so cuts land in sensible places.
- Grout: colour and joint width change the final look, and stain-resistant grout reduces upkeep.
- Edges and trim: metal profiles or mitred edges finish niches, corners and tile ends cleanly.
Every tiled shower we build starts with a proper waterproofing system behind the tile. See bathroom wall tiles and waterproofing membranes, explore our bathroom renovation services, or book a discovery call to review tile options for your home.
