Our approach

Accessibility is part of creating a clear and thoughtfully managed experience.

We are working to identify, prevent and remove digital barriers so visitors can learn about QUAY, explore our renovation services and contact our team using the technology and methods that work best for them.

01

We want everyone to be able to use the QUAY website.

Our goal is to provide an online experience that is understandable, navigable and usable by people with a wide range of abilities and access needs.

QUAY Construction recognizes that people interact with websites in different ways. Some visitors use keyboards, screen readers, screen magnification, speech recognition, alternate input devices or customized browser settings.

We consider accessibility when developing and updating website layouts, written content, images, forms, navigation and interactive features.

Accessibility is an ongoing process. As our website and services evolve, we will continue reviewing the experience and working to address barriers brought to our attention.

Tell us if you encounter a barrier. We welcome accessibility feedback and will make reasonable efforts to provide the information or assistance you need in another suitable format.

02

Working toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

QUAY uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, commonly known as WCAG, as a reference for improving the accessibility of our website.

Our current goal is to work toward alignment with WCAG 2.2 Level AA where reasonably possible. This statement does not represent that every page, component or third-party feature has been independently audited or fully conforms to every WCAG success criterion.

Accessibility Goal WCAG 2.2 Level AA

A practical standard for accessible web content.

WCAG provides guidance for making websites more perceivable, operable, understandable and robust for people with disabilities.

01

Perceivable

Information should be presented in ways visitors can perceive through sight, sound or assistive technology.

02

Operable

Navigation and interactive controls should be usable through different input methods.

03

Understandable

Content, instructions and navigation should be clear, consistent and reasonably predictable.

04

Robust

Website code should work with a range of current browsers and assistive technologies.

03

Accessibility is considered throughout the website.

We take practical measures intended to make our online content easier to navigate and understand.

Semantic structure

Pages use headings, sections, lists, links and other meaningful HTML elements where practical.

Keyboard navigation

Interactive elements are designed to remain available without relying exclusively on a mouse.

Visible focus states

Links, buttons and controls include visible focus indicators to support keyboard users.

Alternative text

Meaningful images are given descriptive text alternatives where appropriate.

Colour contrast

Text and important interface elements are designed with legibility and contrast in mind.

Responsive layouts

Pages are designed to adapt across desktop, tablet and mobile screen sizes.

Reduced motion

Where possible, animations respect a visitor’s reduced-motion device preference.

Ongoing review

New and updated content is reviewed for common accessibility concerns as part of our workflow.

04

The website is designed to support different ways of browsing.

Depending on your device, browser and assistive technology, you should generally be able to perform the following actions.

01
Increase text size

Use browser or device zoom controls to enlarge text and page content.

02
Navigate by keyboard

Move through links, buttons, forms and other interactive elements without a mouse.

03
Use assistive technology

Access page structures and controls using compatible screen readers or other assistive tools.

04
View on different screens

Browse the website on common desktop, tablet and mobile screen sizes.

05
Pause interactive content

Control interactive sections where pause, previous, next or selection controls are provided.

06
Contact us another way

Call or email QUAY if an online form or feature is difficult for you to use.

Browser tip Most browsers allow you to enlarge a page using Command and + on Mac, or Control and + on Windows.
05

Designed for current browsers and assistive technologies.

The QUAY website is intended to work with current versions of commonly used browsers, operating systems and assistive technologies.

Modern browsers Recommended

Recent versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Microsoft Edge generally provide the best experience.

Mobile devices Responsive

The website is designed to adapt to common mobile and tablet screen sizes and orientations.

Screen readers Supported in principle

Semantic HTML, labels and accessible names are used to improve compatibility with screen-reading software.

Keyboard controls Supported

Core links, buttons and interactive features are intended to remain accessible using a keyboard.

Older technology May be limited

Very old browsers, operating systems or assistive technologies may not display or operate every feature as intended.

Accessibility can vary depending on the combination of browser, operating system, device settings, extensions and assistive technology being used.

06

Some content may not yet provide an ideal experience.

Despite our efforts, parts of the website may have accessibility limitations or may not work equally well with every device or assistive technology.

01

Older media

Some older videos may not yet include complete captions, transcripts or audio descriptions.

02

Project imagery

Renovation galleries contain visually detailed images that may be difficult to describe fully through concise alternative text.

03

Maps and interactive tools

Interactive maps, sliders and carousels may provide a different experience depending on the technology used.

04

Uploaded documents

Some older PDF or downloadable documents may not contain complete accessibility tagging.

05

Third-party tools

Scheduling, video, maps, reviews and embedded services may contain barriers outside QUAY’s direct control.

Need another format?

Contact us and identify the page, content or service you are trying to access. We will work with you to provide the information through a reasonable alternative where possible.

07

Some website features are provided by external services.

Our website may contain or link to services operated by other organizations, including video platforms, mapping tools, social networks, review platforms, scheduling systems and embedded forms.

QUAY does not control the code, accessibility features or ongoing updates of third-party websites and applications.

External websites

A linked website may follow different accessibility standards and practices.

Embedded services

An embedded tool may not respond to accessibility settings in the same way as the main QUAY website.

Alternative access

Contact us if an external tool prevents you from requesting information or communicating with QUAY.
