Project story
A bright white condo kitchen near Kits Beach
This top-floor Kitsilano condo has vaulted ceilings and skylights, but the kitchen was stuck in another era: white laminate cabinets, a mauve tile backsplash, pink floor tile and white appliances. As part of a full condo renovation, the owner wanted a clean, bright kitchen that would last.
We kept the U-shaped layout and the pass-through to the living room, and replaced everything else. New white shaker cabinets on plywood boxes with soft-close hinges and drawers now wrap the room, including a tall pantry, a lazy Susan in the corner and an open corner shelf.
White quartz runs across the counters and up the walls as a full backsplash, with a stainless double undermount sink and pull-down faucet under the window. A new stainless appliance package went in, with a French-door fridge, an electric range, a dishwasher and an over-the-range microwave.
Engineered hardwood replaced the old tile and carries through to the living room. The kitchen came in at about $60,000 and was completed in 2022. Watch the walk-through video below, or see more condo kitchen renovations in Vancouver, or read about kitchen renovation in Kitsilano.

FAQ
Condo kitchen questions
Common questions from Kitsilano condo owners planning a kitchen renovation.
How much does a condo kitchen renovation cost in Kitsilano?
The kitchen in this Kitsilano condo came in at about $60,000, with new custom cabinets, quartz countertops and backsplash, a new appliance package and engineered hardwood flooring. Complete Vancouver kitchens commonly fall within a $40,000–$80,000+ planning range, depending on size, finishes and layout changes.
Can you renovate a condo kitchen without changing the layout?
Yes. This kitchen kept its U-shaped layout and its pass-through to the living room, so plumbing and appliance locations stayed put. New cabinets, counters, appliances and floors still made it feel like a completely different room.
What does a Kitsilano strata need before a kitchen renovation?
Most Vancouver stratas ask for a renovation request, proof of insurance, a WorkSafeBC clearance letter and details of any flooring underlay. On this project we prepared the full application, including an indemnity agreement and the acoustic underlay specs, before work started.
How do you get more storage in a small condo kitchen?
Use the full height and the corners. Here we added a tall pantry cabinet, a lazy Susan in the blind corner and an open corner shelf, so the same U-shaped footprint holds much more.
Do you renovate condo kitchens across Kitsilano?
Yes. QUAY renovates condo and house kitchens across Kitsilano and Vancouver's west side, including Point Grey, Fairview and Dunbar.
Is the work warrantied?
Yes. Every QUAY renovation is backed by a 365-day workmanship warranty.
