Bathroom plumbing in Vancouver
Fixture installation, plumbing upgrades and repairs done by licensed trades as part of a properly planned bathroom renovation.
The part of the bathroom you do not see
Behind the tile and under the floor, bathroom plumbing decides whether the room works: steady pressure, drains that clear, valves that hold temperature and connections that never leak. A renovation is the one chance to get at it easily.
QUAY Construction coordinates bathroom plumbing across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland as part of our bathroom renovations, using licensed plumbers and permits where required.

Plumbing is roughed in to suit the exact fixtures chosen, so selections come first.
Rough-in plumbing
Supply and drain lines positioned for the new layout.
Fixture relocation
Moving a toilet, sink, tub or shower to improve the layout.
Shower and tub plumbing
Valves, drains and overflows for new showers and tubs.
Shut-off valves
New isolation valves at each fixture.
Drain and vent work
Drains sloped and vented correctly so fixtures clear properly.
Permits and inspections
Plumbing permits arranged where the work requires them.

The right time to renew old plumbing
When the walls and floor are open, replacing ageing supply lines, valves and drains adds little to the project and avoids opening finished tile later.
We tell you what we find and what we recommend before going ahead.
Faucet, toilet and shower valve installation and fixture upgrades.
New fixtures are the parts of the plumbing you touch every day.
Faucet installation, toilet installation and toilet replacement are part of almost every bathroom renovation. Shower valves installation sets the control behind the wall, so it is done before tile. Bathroom fixture upgrades can also refresh a room without changing its layout.
- Faucet installation: vanity, tub and shower faucets fitted and tested
- Toilet installation and replacement: standard, comfort-height, wall-hung and water-efficient models
- Shower valves installation: pressure-balanced and thermostatic valves
- Bathroom fixture upgrades: new trim, heads and accessories in a coordinated finish
Pipe replacement, drain repair and water pressure fixes.
Problems behind the wall are best solved while it is open.
Pipe replacement renews old or corroded supply lines. Drain repair corrects slow or leaking drains, and a water pressure fix addresses restricted lines or failing valves. Faucet repair is sometimes worthwhile, though replacement is often the better value during a renovation.
- Pipe replacement: ageing supply lines replaced with modern materials
- Drain repair: leaking, slow or poorly sloped drains corrected
- Water pressure fix: restrictions and failing valves identified and resolved
- Faucet repair: cartridges and seals replaced where the faucet is worth keeping

Bathroom renovation cost in Vancouver is driven by scope, not square footage.
Plumbing cost depends on whether fixtures move, the condition of existing lines and the fixtures selected. We define the scope with you and provide a fixed-price proposal before construction begins.
Rather than quoting a generic square-foot price, we define the actual scope and provide a fixed-price proposal before construction begins. For typical ranges by room, see our renovation cost guides.
Bathroom plumbing questions answered
Can I move my toilet or shower? +
Usually, though it depends on drain routes and structure. In condos, movement is limited by the building drain locations.
Should old pipes be replaced during a renovation? +
If they are ageing or corroded, replacing them while the walls are open is sensible.
Does bathroom plumbing need a permit? +
Relocating fixtures and altering drain or supply lines typically does. We arrange this.
What is a thermostatic shower valve? +
A valve that holds a set temperature and lets you control volume separately.
Why is my bathroom water pressure low? +
Common causes are restricted old pipes, a failing valve or cartridge, or clogged aerators and shower heads.
Do you do standalone plumbing repairs? +
Our plumbing work is carried out as part of bathroom renovations. For an urgent leak, call a service plumber.
Do you renovate older and character homes? +
Yes. We check older homes for outdated wiring, old plumbing and hazardous materials. That way, these issues are part of the plan instead of a surprise mid-project.
Does QUAY Construction provide a warranty? +
Yes. QUAY Construction provides a 365-day workmanship warranty following completion of the renovation.
